According to FBR Chairman Amjed Zubair Tiwana, starting in January 2024, FBR to Start Blocking SIMs and Utility Connections of Non-Filers 2024 form today 02 January 2024.The Pakistani government will begin implementing a policy to block SIMS (subscriber identity modules) and utility connections for individuals who are non-filers, meaning they have not filed their income tax returns.

FBR stands for Federal Board of Revenue, which is the revenue collection agency in Pakistan. Chairman Tiwana stated that the deadline for responding to the notices regarding non-filing was December 28-29, 2023. After this deadline, the FBR will issue a general order that includes the names of non-compliant non-filers, and these individuals will have their electricity and gas connections terminated as a consequence.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Amjed Zubair Tiwana, has revealed the plan of removing mobile phone SIMs and disconnection of the utility connections of non-filers will start in January 2024. In a meeting with a select group of members of the media, Tiwana announced that the deadline to respond to notices was between December 28 and 29 2023. If anyone fails to reply to the notices, it is expected that the FBR is expected to issue a general notice containing the names of non-filers who are not compliant and will cause the disconnection of their gas and electric connections.
